The 2006 Farmingdale State volleyball team finished the year with a 22-6 overall record, finishing second in the Skyline with a 7-1 record during the regular season. The Rams defeated Old Westbury 3-1 in the conference semifinals and then fell in the finals to Stevens Institute of Technology. It was a record-setting season for Farmingdale, as a team they set season-highs in every category since joining the NCAA and were ranked 16th in the Nation in Aces per game. Farmingdale, NY – Farmingdale and Old Westbury's women's volleyball teams faced off at the Clark Athletic Center on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury on Tuesday night, October 24th, not only for a Skyline Conference game, but to hold a fundraiser in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All of the players wore pink socks during the match to promote breast cancer awareness and the coaches sported pink t-shirts or wore pink pre-wrap. Donations were accepted at the door and all proceeds will be given to the National Breast Cancer Foundation...

Old Westbury, NY - On Tuesday October 24th, Farmingdale and SUNY Old Westbury will face off in a Skyline volleyball game, while teaming up to fight breast cancer. Farmingdale State senior outside hitter Gina Moscato (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) was named Skyline Player of the Week for women's volleyball on Monday, October 16th. Senior outside hitter Gina Moscato averaged 3.50 kills and 4.92 digs in three matches for Farmingdale State last week. Moscato, who recorded a pair of double-doubles, notched a season-high 24 kills in the Rams' 3-1 victory over Lehman. In a five-game match against FDU-Florham, she had 12 kills and a season-high 28 digs. Moscato is currently averaging 3.33 kills and 2.33 digs this season...

Mike Harrington, Director of Athletics at Farmingdale State, is pleased to announce that Tom Gordon has been named Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Farmingdale State. Gordon was the head coach at New York Institute of Technology from 1992-1996 and coached the girls varsity at Central Islip from 2001-2005. He currently coaches in the Long Island Big Apple Volleyball Club (LIBA) coaching the Girls under 17 team and has been a head coach in LIBA since 1991. Gordon replaces John Sack who was the coach at Farmingdale the past two seasons.
