Volleyball Takes Mount Saint Mary in Four

Farmingdale, NY - Farmingdale (15-4, 4-1) defeated visiting Mount Saint Mary College (7-21, 3-4) today, 3-1, in a Skyline Conference women's volleyball game in Farmingdale, NY. The Rams took game one easily 30-21 and then fought for a 32-30 victory in game two. Mount Saint Mary rallied from an 8-point deficit in game three to win 30-28. The fourth and final game was decided 30-19 in the Rams favor for the match and conference win.

Farmingdale had a total of 92 digs in the match with six players in double figures. Sophomore middle blocker Cathryn McLean (Freeport, NY/Northport) led the team with 16 kills, 13 digs, five aces and three solo blocks. Junior middle blocker Amanda Sperling (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) finished with 13 kills and 14 digs. Senior setter Falon Taddeo (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) had 36 assists for the night and 14 digs. Senior outside hitter Gina Moscato (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) contributed 10 digs and nine kills. Senior outside hitter Melissa Rudy (Dix Hills, NY/Hills East) played well with 14 digs.

The Rams face Ramapo College tomorrow night, Thursday, October 19th in Mahwah, NJ at 7:00pm. They will play in the Skyline/CUNY Challenge on Saturday, October 21st at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, NY.
