Farmingdale, NY – Farmingdale women's volleyball clinched second place in the Skyline Conference with a 3-1 victory over St. Joseph's College and a 3-0 victory over Centenary College on Saturday afternoon, October 28th, in a conference tri-match. The Rams improved to 21-5, 7-1 in the Skyline with the wins.

In the first match, St. Joseph's (18-14, 4-2 Skyline) faced off against Farmingdale. The Rams came out slow and St. Joseph's rolled to a 30-17 win in the first game, but Farmingdale rallied in game two for a 32-30 victory and stole the momentum, winning the next two games, for a 3-1 match final. Sophomore middle blocker Cathryn McLean (Freeport, NY/Northport) had 14 kills, 12 digs and three blocks for the Rams, while junior middle blocker Amanda Sperling (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) finished with 11 kills and 17 digs.

The second match featured St. Joseph's versus Centenary College. The Golden Eagles took the 3-0 victory with scores of 30-19, 30-22 and 30-28.

Farmingdale faced Centenary in the final match of the day, winning 30-15, 30-22 and 30-14. Sperling (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) led with seven kills for the Rams and senior setter Megan Cranmer had 27 assists.

Today was the final home games for seniors Megan Cranmer, Linda Kalinowski, Gina Moscato, Melissa Rudy and Falon Taddeo.

The Skyline Conference Championship is next for the Rams. It is a one-day tournament being held on November 4th at Stevens in Hoboken, NJ. The semifinals start at 10:00am with seeds 1 and 4, while seeds 2 and 3 play at Noon. The Championship will be held at 3:00pm.
