Senior outside hitter/middle blocker Amanda Sperling (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for women's volleyball on Monday, October 29th. Sperling had a huge game for the Rams in a 3-1 win over conference rival Old Westbury on Tuesday night. She finished the game with 18 kills, 14 digs and three solo blocks. Senior setter Colleen Mackey (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for women's volleyball on Monday, October 22nd. Usually seen as a right side, Mackey has taken over as the teams setter after two team injuries. Junior middle blocker (Northport, N.Y./Northport) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for women's volleyball on Monday, October 15th. McLean led the Rams with 3.94 kills per game, 4.65 digs and 1.41 blocks per game in a 3-1 week for Farmingdale State. She registered 7 or more blocks in three matches this week, finishing with 24 total blocks. Against Polytechnic, she finished with 28 kills, 24 digs and 8 blocks. She then added seven blocks in the Mount Saint Vincent match and 8 blocks against Mount Saint Mary, as well as tallying up 79 digs and 12 service aces throughout the week...

Freshman setter Jeanne Marie Weber (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for women's volleyball on Monday, October 8th. Weber earns Skyline Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 6.53 assists and 1.60 digs in a 3-2 week for Farmingdale State College. Weber recorded double-digit assist totals in all five matches. Sperling was the team leader in the Rams 3-1 win over St. Joe's last week, as she set career-highs of 18 kills and 30 digs, with a .342 attack percentage. She finished out the week averaging 6.40 digs and 3.50 kills, after adding 27 digs against Russell Sage and 11 kills and 7 digs with a .400 attack percentage in the win over Bard. Cape Cod, Mass. - Junior middle blocker Cathryn McLean (Northport, N.Y./Northport) was named ECAC Metro Region Player of the Week for women's volleyball on Wednesday, September 19th. McLean averaged 4.69 kills, 5.56 digs, and 1.5 blocks per game, while leading Farmingdale State to a 3-1 week. In the four matches, the junior recorded four double-doubles and a total of 75 kills, 89 digs, and 24 blocks. Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team improved to 6-6, 1-0 Skyline with a four game victory over St. Joseph's College (1-10, 0-1) tonight in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams took game one quickly 30-16, then fell in game two 25-30 and came back to take the third game 30-21 for a 2-1 edge. In game four, the Rams were up 29-25 and could not knock down the game point as four straight balls hit just outside the back line, tying the game up at 29 and forcing a 2-point win. McLean earns her second straight citation after averaging 4.69 kills, 5.56 digs and 1.50 blocks in helping Farmingdale State to a third-place finish at the New Paltz Invitational. McLean averaged 4.60 kills, 2.67 digs, 1.60 blocks and 1.07 service aces as Farmingdale State split four matches at the Old Westbury Invitational. McLean recorded team-highs of 69 kills, 40 digs, 24 blocks and 16 aces in 15 games. She recorded 22 kills each in a four-game victory over Baruch and a five-game loss to Ramapo. LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Coming off a program-best 22-6 record and a second-place finish in conference play in 2006, Farmingdale State College has been selected as the Skyline Conference preseason favorite in women’s volleyball as selected by the league's head coaches. The 2006 campaign was a breakthrough season for the Rams who went 22-6 overall and 7-1 in Skyline Conference play. In his first season as head coach at Farmingdale State, Tom Gordon guided the Rams to a 13-win improvement from the previous season (9-17, 3-5 Skyline) and a berth in the conference championship match.
