Women's Volleyball Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The women's volleyball team finished the season with an overall record of 21-16 and advanced to the Finals of the Skyline Conference Championship, before falling to top-seeded Russell Sage College. The Rams advanced to the Championship game by defeating Mount Saint Vincent in the quarterfinals and Polytechnic University in the semi-finals of the Conference Championship.

Rams junior Cathryn Mclean and senior Amanda Sperling were named to the All-Conference teams. Mclean, who was named First Team All-Skyline, finished the year with a total of 120 solo blocks and led the team in kills, service aces and digs. Twice during the season she was named Skyline player of the week and once was named ECAC player of the week. Sperling, who was named Second Team All-Skyline, was a very versatile player for the team, playing both middle blocker and outside hitter. She finished second on the team in kills, blocks and service aces. Colleen Mackey was a great all around player for Farmingdale during her senior season. Mackey was second on the team in assists from her setter position and finished the year with 199 kills, 59 service aces and 380 digs.
