Rams Bounce Back with Win at Kings Point

Farmingdale State - 3, USMMA - 1 

Kings Point, N.Y. - Farmingdale State bounced back from a four-game losing streak tonight as they defeated the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy 3-1 (30-22, 30-20, 28-30, 30-24) in a non-conference women's volleyball match in Kings Point, N.Y. The Rams improved to 8-11 with the win, while USMMA fell to 7-9 overall.

Farmingdale senior middle/outside Amanda Sperling (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) finished the night with team-highs of 16 kills, three solo blocks and three service aces, along with 13 digs. Junior middle blocker Cathryn McLean (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and sophomore outside hitter Amanda Sieber (Commack, N.Y./Commack) both posted 10 kills and 13 digs.

The Rams travel to FDU-Florham on Friday, October 5th for the FDU-Florham Devil's Classic. Farmingdale plays Pitt-Bradford on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and FDU at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, October 6th, the Rams face Kean University at Noon and will play in the Consolation or Championship match at either 2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.
