Seven members of the Indoor Track team competed this past weekend at the ECAC Championships at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Freshman Andre Brown (Jamaica, NY/Waterford) placed second in the long jump with a leap of 22? 7 ¼? (6.89m), and led off the 4x200m Relay team, which placed sixth in 1:32.61. Joining Brown on the relay team were freshman Tywaun Sanford (Freeport, NY/Freeport), sophomore Kenny Adams (Spring Valley, NY/Ramapo) and freshman Ian Morgan (Amityville, NY/Amityville)...

Freshman Ian Morgan (Amityville, NY/Amityville) ran 50.14 in the 400m to qualify for the ECAC Championships next week and place him in 7th on the All-time Farmingdale 400m indoor list. Freshman Ian Lovergie (Castle Point, NY/Beacon) high jumped 6?5? to move to 10th on the All-time list. Freshman Reggie Routier (Amityville, NY/Freeport) triple jumped 44? 3 ¼? (13.49m), each bettering their previous ECAC qualifying mark. Freshman Shane Smith (Brooklyn, NY/Lafayette) pole vaulted 13?3? in his first collegiate competition and quickly took a spot on the All-time pole vault list at 3rd place. Junior Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) once again set a personal record triple jumping 42? 4 ½? (12.91m)...

The Men?s Indoor Track Team placed 10th out of the 21 scoring teams at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on February 12th ? 13th. The Rams came home with nine top-10 finishes, another NCAA qualifying jump by Andre Brown, two ECAC qualifiers and five personal bests...

Freshman Andre Brown (Jamaica, W.I./Waterford), in his first collegiate competition, won the long jump in an NCAA provisional and ECAC qualifying jump of 22'11 3/4" (7.00m). Brown also placed 7th in the 55m in 6.67 (6.63 trials) to also qualify for the ECAC Championships in that event...

On his 19th birthday, Reuben Hairston (Freeport, NY/Freeport) set two personal bests after placing 2nd in the long jump, 21? 11 ¾? (6.70m) and 12th in the triple jump, 42? 6 ½? (12.97m). Reggie Routier (Amityville, NY/Freeport) finished with two personal bests of his own, placing 7th in the 55m hurdles in 8.75 and 11th in the triple jump in 42? 7 ½? (12.99m). Also setting personal bests were Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) in the triple jump, 41? 5 ¼? (12.63), and Jason Hernandez?s (Bay Shore, NY/St. Anthony?s) 1:12.86 in the 500m run.

The field of 11 Division I and Division II schools included such notable programs such as Seton Hall, Rutgers, Fordham, Manhattan College, Holy Cross and FDU. Freshman Reuben Hairston (Freeport, NY/Freeport) long jumped 21'4" (6.50) to qualify for the ECAC Championships on March 4th and 5th at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He will join fellow freshman Andre Spears (Westbury, NY/Westbury) at the ECAC's. Spears qualified in the triple jump at the CTC Relays on December 5, 2004.
