Men's Indoor Track Shines at ECAC Championships

Seven members of the Indoor Track team competed this past weekend at the ECAC Championships at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Freshman Andre Brown (Jamaica, NY/Waterford) placed second in the long jump with a leap of 22’ 7 ¼” (6.89m), and led off the 4x200m Relay team, which placed sixth in 1:32.61. Joining Brown on the relay team were freshman Tywaun Sanford (Freeport, NY/Freeport), sophomore Kenny Adams (Spring Valley, NY/Ramapo) and freshman Ian Morgan (Amityville, NY/Amityville).

Freshman Reggie Routier (Amityville, NY/Freeport) set a personal best of 44’ 8 ¾” (13.63m) to place fifth in the triple jump. Freshman Reuben Hairston placed 10th in the Long Jump at 21’ 3” (6.48m). Freshman Ian Morgan placed 11th in the 400m with a time of 51.01. The men’s team finished with a combined score of 15 points, placing them in 18th out of 47 entered teams (32 scoring teams).

Coach Minkoff and Andre Brown will be traveling to Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois for the NCAA Division III Championships on March 11th-12th. Andre will be competing in the long jump on Friday, March 11th at 11:00am. He is the first in school history to qualify for the NCAA’s.
