Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. - The men's tennis team secured a Skyline Conference Playoff spot today with a 7-2 victory over Bard College (2-7, 2-5) on Saturday afternoon in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. The guys have had an impressive season so far in just their first year as a Varsity program. Farmingdale State junior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y./Flushing) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week for men's tennis on Monday, April 7th.
Passarella went unbeaten in both singles and doubles play in two Skyline Conference matches last week. Passarella posted straight-sets victories at first singles against both Mount Saint Vincent and Yeshiva. At first doubles, he teamed with Matthew Kaczmarczyk for victories of 8-0 and 8-2 respectively, helping the Rams win their first two conference matches in their first season of varsity play.

Farmingdale State freshman Chris Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for men's tennis on Monday, March 24th. Genzmann earned his first career doubles victory, 9-8 (7-1) while teaming with Joe Passarella at first doubles. Genzmann also had a strong showing at fourth singles, but lost a close 1-6, 6-0, 7-5 match to Brooklyn’s Johnny Rolando. Farmingdale State junior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y./Flushing) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week for men's tennis on Monday, March 24th. Passarella earned victories in both singles and doubles play as the Rams dropped a close 5-4 decision to Brooklyn College in their only match of the week. Passarella, playing at first singles and first doubles for the first-year program, won 6-1, 7-5 at first singles and 9-8 (7-1) at first doubles to gain his first victories of the season.
