Tennis Secures Skyline Playoff Spot with Win over Bard

Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. - The men's tennis team secured a Skyline Conference Playoff spot today with a 7-2 victory over Bard College (2-7, 2-5) on Saturday afternoon in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. The guys have had an impressive season so far in just their first year as a Varsity program.

After getting behind 2-1 in doubles, the men rebounded to win all six singles matches for the win and the spot in the Skyline Semifinals on Wednesday, April 23rd.

Freshman Ryan Hartman (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) and freshman Chris Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) won the only doubles match of the day, 8-5.

Singles matches were won by junior Joe Passarella (Flushing, N.Y./Holy Cross), junior Matthew Kaczmarczyk (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon), Hartman, junior Joe Hotzak (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown), Genzmann and junior William Jimenez (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip).

The team will travel to the National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. for a conference match against Polytechnic on Sunday, April 20th at 6:00 p.m.
