Rams Defeat CMSV in Regular Season Finale

Farmingdale State - 19, Mount Saint Vincent - 6


Riverdale, N.Y. - In their final regular season game, the Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team cruised to a 19-6 road victory at conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent this afternoon. The Rams have earned the #3 seed for the playoffs after finishing with a 4-2 record in the Skyline Conference.

Over the first 3:14 of the game, FSC (11-4) used unassisted scores from James Ragland (Seaford, N.Y.), Peter Engelken (Holtsville, N.Y.) and Shane Clark (Oceanside, N.Y.) to quickly jump out to a 3-0 advantage.

Leading 6-1, junior attack Jake Satterley (West Babylon, N.Y.) closed the quarter with a goal as FSC led by six entering the second.

Farmingdale State opened the second with four unanswered goals as Ragland, junior midfielder Dylan Fitzgerald (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Satterley (2) each scored to give Farmingdale State an 11-1 advantage with 7:15 on the clock. The Dolphins (3-13, 0-6) recorded the final three goals of the half as FSC went into the break on top, 11-4. In the first half, the Rams won 11-of-16 faceoffs, out shot CMSV 27-11 and held a 23-10 ground ball advantage.

The Rams scored six unanswered goals within the first 10 minutes of the third to take their largest lead of the game at 17-4. FSC entered the final quarter leading 17-5 and outscored Mount Saint Vincent, 2-1, en route to the 19-6 victory.

Satterley led all scorers with six points on a game-high five goals and one assist, while Ragland had three goals. Clark and junior attack AJ Sandorfi (Lynbrook, N.Y.) each pitched in with a pair of goals and one assist for FSC.

Freshman attack Patrick Nagy (Clifton Park, N.Y.) led the way for CMSV with a team-high five points on three goals and two assists.

The Rams next will begin postseason play when they travel to #2 Merchant Marine (10-4, 5-1) for the semifinals of the Skyline Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship on Wednesday, May 1st.
