New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #2 on Monday, September 10, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Cross Country Update - Men's Full Report  - Women's Full Report

At the season opening Purchase College Invitational, the men's and women's cross country teams each finished in sixth place.

FSC freshman Joshua Green (Shelter Island, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. In his first collegiate race, Green placed sixth out of 147 in 27:49.3 at the Purchase College Invitational. For the women, junior Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll after a 14th place finish in a time of 25:42.7.

The Rams have the week off from competition and return to action on Saturday, September 22nd at the Bard Raptors Invitational.

 

Women's Tennis Update (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a pair of non-conference matches last week, FSC was 2-0 with shutouts over both William Paterson and John Jay.

Freshman Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) was tabbed Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Lettieri picked up a pair of victories at both #2 singles and #1 doubles and her singles wins both came in straight sets. Junior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after posting a 2-0 record at #1 doubles and a 1-0 mark at #1 singles.

This week Farmingdale State will play two matches: Friday at Western Connecticut State @ 3:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. Lehman @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Soccer Update (4-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's soccer team was 2-1 last week with wins over both Trinity (Conn.) (2-1) and Kean (2-0).

Junior midfielder Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) claimed a spot on the Honor Roll after scoring two goals for a team-leading four points on the week.

The Rams will play two games this week: Friday at Scranton @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. #14 SUNY Geneseo @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (1-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a pair of home non-conference games last week, the men's soccer team was 1-1 with a 3-0 victory over Brooklyn and a 2-1 loss to FDU-Florham.

Sophomore midfielder Alex Castano (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Castano notched three points on a goal and an assist in FSC's two games.

This week Farmingdale State is scheduled to play two non-conference home games: Wednesday vs. Hunter @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. John Jay at 11:00 a.m.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (1-8, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams earned their first win of the season against Medgar Evers (3-0) on Tuesday before dropping four matches at the Wheaton College Invitational over the weekend.

The women's volleyball team will play four home matches this week: Tuesday vs. Staten Island @ 6:00 p.m., Thursday vs. Baruch @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. both William Paterson (10:00 a.m.) and Keystone (2:00 p.m.).

 

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team opens the season this Friday at the MSMC Skyline Invitational at The Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y.
