FSC Athletics Fall Update #2

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #2 on Monday, September 18, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Volleyball Update (5-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 record last week with non-conference victories over Lehman, Cairn and Misericordia.

Junior setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after leading the team with 85 assists. She added 13 kills, seven aces and 25 digs in Farmingdale State's three games.

This week FSC will play three non-conference matches: Tuesday home vs. Moravian @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Middlebury (5:00 p.m.) and Ramapo (7:00 p.m.) at the Ramapo Roadrunner Invitational.

 

Women's Soccer Update (2-3-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 0-1-1 in a pair of non-conference games last week. FSC fell, 1-0, in double OT against Scranton and bounced back with a 1-1 tie versus #15 SUNY Geneseo. The women's soccer team is currently ranked eighth in the East Region.

Sophomore goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Ford tallied 15 saves, posted a 0.82 goals against average and held a .882 save percentage on the week. She stopped 10 shots and held a .909 save percentage against Scranton and recorded five saves in the tie against #15 SUNY Geneseo.

Farmingdale State next will square off against NYU at Manhattan College on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

 

Women's Tennis Update (1-4, 0-1 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC was 1-1 in two non-conference matches last week with a 7-2 victory over Hunter and a 6-3 loss to Baruch.

This week the women's tennis team will play three home matches: Thursday vs. Lehman @ 4:30 p.m., Saturday vs. Berkeley-NY @ 1:00 p.m. and Sunday vs. Oneonta @ 11:00 a.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (2-2, 0-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team opened Skyline Conference play and fell, 2-0, at Purchase in their lone game of the week.

FSC will play their first home game of 2017 on Saturday against Old Westbury at noon.

 

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team opened the fall season with a fifth place finish out of 16 teams at the Penn State Harrisburg Fall Invitational. Junior Patrick O'Halloran (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) finished tied for fifth with scores of 73 and 76 to lead FSC.

This weekend the Rams will head to Downingtown Country Club for the Rosemont Raven Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.

Farmingdale State had the week off and return to action this Saturday for the Bard Raptors Invitational in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.
