Oneonta, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's outdoor track team competed at the 2007 ECAC Outdoor Track Championships held at Oneonta State in Oneonta, N.Y. on May 17th and 18th. The men scored 24 points to tie for 11th out of 43 scoring teams and 54 entered teams...May 12, 2007
Randalls Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's Outdoor Track team ran on Sunday, May 13th in the Last Chance Meet at Icahn Stadium in Randalls Island, N.Y. Kings Point, N.Y. - Led by National Provisional qualifier Akil Williams, the men's team won three events in the past weekend's USMMA Invitational including the High Jump, Discus and 110-meter High Hurdles. Akil jumped 2.02-meters (6'8") to qualify for the NCAA Division III Nationals to be held at the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on May 24th - 26th. Akil joins Reggie Routier, who has previously qualified in the Triple Jump. This is the first time since becoming an NCAA Division III prgram that two athletes may be traveling to the National Championships. Akil is now tied for 2nd place on the All-Time list and just 1-inch off the school record. Chris Okolie won the Discus in an ECAC qualifying and personal best 42.73-meters (140'2"). Philadelphia, Pa. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track team competed in the Penn Relays this weekend at the University of Pennsylvania. Allentown, Pa. - Junior captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) and freshman Kensley Norian (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) led the men's outdoor track team to a tie for 5th place with a total 71 points at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships held at DeSales University in Allentown, Pennsylvania on April 21-22. This is the highest point total and team score in the schools history. Reggie placed 2nd in the Triple Jump with a National provisional qualifying mark of 14.33-meters (47' 1/4"). This moves Reggie to 2nd on the All-Time list and only 3 3/4" from the school record. He also placed 2nd in the 110-meter High Hurdles in an ECAC Qualifying 15.42. This is a personal best and puts him 9th on the All-Time list. Kensley placed 2nd in the 400-meter in a personal best 49.58 and led the 2nd place 4x400-meter Relay to a blazing 3:19.70. Kings Point, N.Y. - Freshman Chris Herbst (Baiting Hollow, N.Y./Riverhead) won the 110-meter High Hurdles in a season and personal best 15.35 at the Men's and Women's Outdoor Track Coach "O" Invitational in Kings Point, N.Y. on Saturday, April 14th. Chris also Triple Jumped 13.39-meters (43' 11 1/2") to place 6th. These marks improve his ECAC qualifying times in both events. Newport News, Va. - The men's and women's outdoor track team traveled to Newport News, Virginia to compete in the Captain's Classic Invitational hosted by Division III powerhouse Christopher Newport University.
