The men’s and women’s outdoor track team had four ECAC qualifiers this season. Sophomore captain Reggie Routier qualified in three events, while junior Akil Williams, senior Patric Santiago and freshman Jason Chin-Chitty both qualified for one. Both the men and the women finished with their highest finishes in school history at the CTC Championships. The men finished in 6th place and the women finished in 10th. Freshman Kara Grech broke the Pole Vault record at the CTC's with a 3rd place finish, while also having a 5th place finish in the Javelin Throw...

Springfield, MA - Four Farmingdale State student-athletes competed on May 19-20th in the ECAC Championships at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. In a heavy rain with high winds, junior Akil Williams (Jamaica, NY/August Martin) tied for first place in the high jump of 6' 2 3/4" (1.90m). This is way below Akil's season bests of 6' 6 3/4" but considering the weather conditions it was an outstanding performance. The weather cleared for the triple jump as senior captain Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) placed fourth with a jump of 45' 7 3/4" (13.91m). Patric ended his career setting a new personal best in the event. Sophomore captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, NY/Freeport) placed 7th in the Triple Jump with a 43' 11 1/4" (13.39m) performance. Reggie also placed 11th in the 110m High Hurdles in 15.96. Freshman Jason Chin-Chitty (Beacon, NY/Beacon) long jumped 20' 7 1/2" (6.28m) to place 14th. The team placed 19th out of 54 scoring teams and 64 total teams entered...

New York, NY - The men's and women's outdoor track team competed in the Last Chance Meet at Icahn Stadium in Randalls Island, NY on Saturday, May 13th. Senior captain Patric Santiago triple jumped 44' 9 1/4" (13.66m) to place fifth in the meet. Sophomore captain Reggie Routier finished just behind Patric in sixth place with a jump of 43' 7 1/4" (13.29m). Junior Armann Leifsson ran a personal best 1:56.60 in the 800m to finish in 14th place...

Senior Patric Santiago placed first in the Triple Jump with a jump of 44' 1 1/2" (13.45m). Patric was followed by Reggie Routier who place third with a jump of 43' 3 3/4" (13.20m). Both Patric and Reggie will be competing in the event at the ECAC Championships on May 18th and 19th at Springfield College. Akil Williams placed first in the High Jump with a jump of 6' 5 3/4" (1.91m). Akil will also be high jumping at the ECAC's. Jason Chin-Chitty placed third in the Long Jump with a jump of 21' 4" (6.50m). This now qualifies him for the ECAC Championships...

Philadelphia, Penn. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track team traveled to Philadelphia this past Friday, April 28th, for the Penn Relays at Franklin Field at the University of Pennsylvania. Allentown, PA - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track team competed in the Collegiate Track Conference Championships this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23 at DeSales University in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The men's team scored 52 points to finish in a tie for 6th place out of 36 teams. This is the highest outdoor team finish in school history. The women's team placed 10th with 10 points. This is also the highest women's team place in school history. Kara Grech broke her own school record in the Pole Vault. Kara placed 3rd with a vault of 8'8". Kara also placed 5th in the Javelin Throw in 85'8" (26.11m)...

Kings Point, NY - Sophomore captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, NY/Freeport) placed 3rd in the 110m High Hurdles in 15.90. Reggie then placed 4th in the Triple Jump in 43'4 1/4" (13.21m). Newport News, VA - The track team opened the outdoor season on a high note with a second place finish in the Captains Classic meet. Sophomore team captain Reggie Routier qualified for the ECAC Championships on May 18th-19th at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Reggie placed 4th in the 110m High Hurdles in a personal best 15.74. He placed 5th in the Triple Jump in 43'9 1/4" (13.34m) and anchored the 3rd place 400-Meter Relay team in 43.33.
