FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team rounded out its regular season with its sixth consecutive victory Saturday afternoon, as it knocked off visiting Skyline Conference foe St. Joseph's-Long Island, 9-0.

The Rams (12-3, 6-1 Skyline) will now be the second seed in the six-team 2023 Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Championship. Head coach Adam Waterhouse's side has earned a first-round bye, and will play host to a semifinal on Thursday (time TBD) against either sixth-seeded St. Joseph's (3-8, 2-5) or third-seeded Yeshiva University.

FSC swept through the three doubles matches, conceding just two games along the way. The top-flight tandem of senior Mark Baker (Baldwin, N.Y.) and freshman Ryan Hendel (No. Merrick, N.Y.) defeated Ryan Freeley and Vincent Engel of the Golden Eagles by an 8-1 margin to win their 11th-straight match, before the No. 2 pair of junior Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and senior Muhammad Sawar (Brentwood, N.Y.) besting Nick Nemickas and Jake Gaudiello by the same score. The Rams' No. 3 duo of senior Matthew Olkhovetsky (Great Neck, N.Y.) and junior Ethan Cintron (Bayside, N.Y.) shut out SJLI's Cory Stengel and Anthony Flaccomio to give their side a 3-0 edge heading into singles play.

Baker's 12th-consecutive, top-flight singles victory on the season came against Freeley by scores of 6-2 and 6-0, with Hendel blanking Stengel in straight sets. Sawar only dropped one first-set game in his No. 3 match versus Nemickas, while sophomore Vincent Manzi (Massapequa, N.Y.) won at No. 4 against Engel, 6-1 and 6-2. Senior Michael Baranowski (So. Huntington, N.Y.) topped Gaudiello at the fifth flight, 6-3 and 6-2, with junior Gabriel Durkin (No. Babylon, N.Y.) rounded out the afternoon with a No. 6 triumph versus Flaccomio, 6-3 and 6-1.
