Kings Point, N.Y. - Tied at 12-12 with 1:32 remaining in double overtime of the Skyline Conference Men's Lacrosse Semifinals, Farmingdale State senior attack Terrence Haggerty (Centerport, N.Y.) netted the golden goal to send FSC to the Championship game on Saturday. The third-seeded Rams will travel to Throggs Neck, N.Y. to play #1 Maritime in the Skyline Final, a rematch from a season ago.

With the game knotted at 5-5 midway through the second quarter, Farmingdale State (12-3) senior midfielder Johnny McMahon (Albertson, N.Y.) recorded back-to-back unassisted goals to go in front, 7-5.

With 3:18 to play in the first half, junior midfielder Hunter Lyons (East Islip, N.Y.) scored before McMahon set up senior attack Jake Wandle (Rocky Point, N.Y.) for a goal to take a 9-5 advantage.

The Mariners (9-7) responded with four unanswered goals over the first 9:05 of the third quarter, including three from junior midfielder Carter Hall (Annapolis, Md.), to even the score at 9-9.

The game went into the fourth quarter tied at 10-10, before Wandle's pass set up sophomore midfielder Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) for a man-up score with just over 12:08 to play.

The Rams maintained the 11-10 lead for over six minutes, but Merchant Marine freshman attack Michael Emerick (Demascus, Md.) scored to knot the game at 11-11.

With 4:35 remaining, McMahon netted his fourth goal of the game, off the feed from Haggerty, to go in front, 12-11.

Farmingdale State controlled play until a shot-clock violation allowed the Mariners to take possession with 1:29 left.

After FSC junior goalie Kevin Loonie (Lynbrook, N.Y.) made a save with 27 seconds on the clock, the Rams turned the ball over after stepping out of bounds.

Merchant Marine freshman attack Jack Collins (Memphis, Tenn.) quickly threw the ball up the field to Emerick who scored to tie the game at 12-12 with less than a second remaining.

Both teams combined for just one shot on goal in the first OT as the game entered a second overtime period.

With less than two minutes to go in the second OT, Farmingdale State drove up the field and cleared into the offensive zone. After a deflected pass went out of bounds, Haggerty picked up the ball, drove to the net and scored while falling to the ground to clinch the 13-12 win for FSC.

Haggerty finished with three goals and an assist for four points, while McMahon had game-highs with four goals, two assists, six points and two caused turnovers. Stock and Wandle tallied two goals apiece and senior attack Rob Varello (Smithtown, N.Y.) notched one goal.

Sophomore midfielder Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) broke his own school record (24 faceoffs won on 4/23 vs. CMSV) and won 27-of-29 faceoffs, to go along with 14 ground balls.

Loonie (W, 12-3) finished with 12 saves to earn his 12th win of the season.

On defense, freshman Christian Lembo (Farmingdale, N.Y.) picked up four ground balls and junior Gino Luchetti (Farmingville, N.Y.) had two ground balls and one caused turnover. Senior long-stick middie Nick Bucholz (Holbrook, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Danny Snow (East Meadow, N.Y.) picked up three ground balls apiece, while senior midfielder John McMahon (West Babylon, N.Y.) tallied a season-high six GB's.

Farmingdale State has advanced to the Skyline Final and will travel to play top-seeded Maritime on Saturday, May 7th at 2:30 p.m.
