New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring weekly report #6 on Monday, April 1st, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (14-5, 5-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State was a perfect 4-0 last week with non-conference wins over Kean (5-3) and Ramapo (8-3) and a Skyline DH sweep of Yeshiva (24-3, 15-2).

Junior outfielder Vincent Rice (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Rice hit .636 (7-for-11) with four extra-base hits (3 2B, 3B), five runs scored and 5 RBI. He reached base safely in all four contests and went 6-for-8 in the DH at Yeshiva with four runs scored, three doubles and a triple.

The Rams will play six home games this week: Tuesday vs. Baruch @ 3:30 p.m., Wednesday vs. Lehman @ 3:30 p.m., Saturday (DH) vs. Mount Saint Mary @ noon and Sunday (DH) vs. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ noon.

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (6-3, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their only game last week, the men's lacrosse team hosted Keystone and recorded a 21-2 victory.

Junior attack AJ Sandorfi (Lynbrook, N.Y.) earned Skyline Conference Player of the Week honors. Sandorfi registered a season-best seven points on three goals and four assists to go with five ground balls in the win over Keystone. He is averaging 3.78 points per game (15 g, 19 a) which ranks #6 in the Skyline.

This week FSC will play a pair of home games: Tuesday vs. St. Joseph's-LI @ 6:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Softball Update (6-12, 6-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams hosted two conference doubleheaders this past weekend and swept both Old Westbury (3-0, 4-0) and Yeshiva (18-3, 16-0).

Junior first baseman Jessica Lombardo (Levittown, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. She hit .636 (7-for-11), picking up 8 RBI, six runs scored and one double in the process. Lombardo went 2-for-3 in both games against Old Westbury and was 4-for-5 in the doubleheader versus Yeshiva, driving in six and scoring four times.

Senior pitcher Jaxie Collard (Deer Park, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll after picking up two wins with 11 shutout innings and seven strikeouts, allowing only five hits and one walk.

The softball team will play a pair of Skyline Conference DH's this week: Saturday vs. Mount Saint Vincent (at Mercy College) @ 11:00 a.m. and Sunday at Purchase @ 11:00 a.m.

 

Men's Tennis Update (1-2, 0-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The men's tennis team was 1-1 in two matches last week. They fell, 5-4, to Yeshiva on Wednesday and rebounded with a 9-0 victory over Pratt on Saturday.

Freshman Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) was tabbed Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. In his only match played versus Yeshiva, Baker earned two of FSC's four points. Baker and teammate Steven Gaudio won 8-0 at #1 doubles and he also earned a shutout victory at first singles (6-0, 6-0).

This week FSC is slated to play four matches: Tuesday vs. St. Joseph's-LI @ 4:00 p.m., Thursday vs. Western Connecticut State @ 4:30 p.m., Friday vs. Sarah Lawrence @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Hunter (at USTA Center) @ noon.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (1-9, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State fell at both #20 Scranton (16-4) and Kean (21-5) last week in a pair of non-conference games.

This week the women's lacrosse team will play two conference games: Wednesday at Merchant Marine @ 7:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 3:30 p.m.

 

Men's Golf Update

This week the men's golf team will compete at the 11-team St. Joseph's-LI Spring Invitational at Bellport Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Outdoor Track Update

The men's and women's outdoor track teams will open the 2019 season this week at the TCNJ Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
