Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #7

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #7 on Monday, April 10th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and conference statistics.

Softball Update (11-11, 6-4 Skyline) - Full Report

In a pair of conference doubleheaders last weekend, the Rams were swept by St. Joseph's-LI but rebounded with a pair of victories over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

Freshman second baseman Jessica Lombardo (Levittown, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Lombardo batted 7-for-11 (.636) with six runs scored, collecting one double, triple and home run over her four games played. She went 4-for-6 with five runs, one home run and 2 RBI in the sweep of St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. Lombardo is tied for first in the conference with three homers, fourth with 15 runs batted in and ranks sixth with a .618 slugging percentage.

FSC will play two home non-conference doubleheaders this week: Wednesday vs. Baruch @ 3:00 p.m. and Thursday vs. New Jersey City @ 3:00 p.m.

Baseball Update (14-12, 9-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The baseball team posted a 5-1 mark last week with their only loss coming in game two against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

Senior first baseman Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.) and senior pitcher Matt Seelinger (Westbury, N.Y.) were both named to the Honor Roll. McCarthy batted .421 in six games with four extra-base hits, including two home runs, to go along with team-high's in RBI's (7), total bases (17) and slugging percentage (.895), while Seelinger tossed 7.1 innings, allowing zero earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts in the game one victory over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

This week the baseball team will host Stevens (9-inning game) on Wednesday @ 3:00 p.m. and Baruch (7-inning DH) on Thursday @ 1:00 p.m.

Women's Lacrosse Update (10-1, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams carded a pair of Skyline victories over Purchase and Mount Saint Vincent last week. The FSC women's lacrosse team was dealt their first loss of the season yesterday with a 16-15 overtime defeat at Oneonta State.

Senior attack Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Sanchez posted a team-high 13 points on two goals and 11 assists in the two games. She tallied her 100th career assist on Saturday and ranks third in the Nation for assists per game (3.9).

Farmingdale State will play one game this week: Thursday at Merchant Marine @ 7:30 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Update (9-4, 3-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team suffered Skyline losses to Stockton and Merchant Marine last week.

FSC will host Maritime (Senior Night) in their only game this week on Wednesday @ 7:00 p.m.

Men's Tennis Update (4-5, 1-2 Skyline) - Full Report

In three games last week, the men's tennis team posted a 1-2 record. The Rams fell to Baruch and Merchant Marine, before a 9-0 victory at Sage on Sunday.

This week the Rams will play two matches: Thursday at Brooklyn @ 4:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. Oneonta State @ 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place out of 11 teams at the NYU Spring Invitational at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J. Sophomore Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) recorded his first career victory after carding rounds of 73 and 75.

FSC will travel to Bellport Country Club for the Long Island Intercollegiate Championship hosted by St. Joseph's-LI on Friday and Saturday.

Outdoor Track Update

The outdoor track teams competed at the TCNJ Invitational on Saturday. Junior Nicolas Fratto (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State after qualifying for the ECAC's in three events. He won the 100m (10.90), placed second in the 200m (22.32) and was a member of the third place 4x100m relay team.

The Rams will travel to Stockton College in Gallaway, N.J. for the Stockton Osprey Open on Friday and Saturday.
