New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #3 on Monday, March 13th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (2-5, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams are in Auburndale, Florida at the RussMatt Invitational for Spring Break.

FSC split a doubleheader with Brockport on Saturday, March 11th with a 6-0 win and 7-1 loss, followed by a 3-2 win and a 4-2 loss in the doubleheader vs. Westfield State on Sunday, March 12th.

Farmingdale State junior Nick Osburn (East Islip, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline's Player of the Week honor roll for his play in the Rams first five games. He finished 3-for-9 with a team-leading .667 slugging percentage, along with two runs scored, one homerun and two walks.

The Rams fell in both games vs. Fredonia on Tuesday, March 14th, falling 1-0 in the eighth inning in game one, before a close 7-6 loss in game two.

The Rams close out their spring trip today, Wednesday, March 15th with a doubleheader with FDU-Florham on Wednesday, March 15th starting at 2:00 p.m.

 

Softball Update (3-3, 0-0 Skyline)

The softball team traveled south for Spring Break to the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.

FSC opened the trip with a 9-2 loss against Plattsburgh State before bouncing back with a 6-2 win over Skidmore College. On Sunday, March 12th, the Rams fell 9-0 to Mt St Joseph and defeated Wisconsin Lutheran 8-6.

The Rams split again on Tuesday, March 14th, with a 2-1 victory over Franklin & Marshall and a 6-2 loss to Utica.

Men's Golf Update

The FSC golf team is on Spring Break this week, down at Orange County National Golf Club in Winter Garden, Florida.

The Rams have a dual match with Luther College on Saturday, March 18th.

 

Men's Lacrosse Update (5-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC was 1-1 in a pair of games last week with a 16-11 victory at Manhattanville and a 12-8 home loss to Eastern Connecticut.

Senior goalkeeper Brendan Schade (Holbrook, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Player of the Week Honor Roll, after picking up two wins in goal this week. He finished with a 6.50 GAA and a .594 save percentage, allowing just 13 goals with 19 saves in his 120 minutes played. He posted 8 saves in the 11-7 win vs. West Conn, before stopping 11 shots in the 7-6 victory at Hartwick.

The Rams also hosted SUNY Canton on Monday, March 13th, posting a 23-3 non-conference victory.

Farmingdale State opens their conference schedule on Saturday, March 18th at home against Mount Saint Mary at 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Lacrosse Update (1-0, 0-0 Skyline)- Full Report

The Rams opened the season with a 19-5 victory against Manhattanville at home on Monday afternoon.

Freshman midfielder Victoria Varone (Commack, N.Y.) and senior attack Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.) were both named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll.

Victoria scored a game-high four goals and game-high six points in the Rams victory over Manhattanville, while Janisha dished out a game-high five assists and added one goal for the Rams.

Farmingdale State next travels to Kean University on Thursday, March 16th for a non-conference game at 4:00 p.m.

 

Men's Tennis Update (1-2, 0-0 Skyline)

The men's tennis team is scheduled to open their spring schedule as they host York (NY) on Friday, March 24th at 4:30 p.m.

 

Outdoor Track Update

The men's and women's outdoor track team opens the season on Friday, March 31st at the Roadrunner Invitational.
