2015 Men's Lacrosse Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - Under first year head coach Sean Chamberlain, the Rams finished with an 8-8 record, including 3-3 in conference play. FSC earned the #4 seed for the playoffs and lost 17-8 at top-seeded Montclair State in the semifinals.

Farmingdale State had three players earn All-Skyline honors as senior attack Philip Schaefer* (Holbrook, N.Y.) and junior defender Dylan Bates (Wading River, N.Y.) were each named to the First Team, while junior defender Matthew Brendel (Hicksville, N.Y.) earned Second Team honors.

Schaefer led the Rams with team-high's in both goals (34) and points (45), was second in ground balls (54) and third on FSC with 11 assists. Freshman attack Michael Cegielski (Somers, N.Y.) tallied a team-leading 15 assists and added 23 goals for 38 points, while sophomore attack Tyler Rifice (Bohemia, N.Y.) recorded 17 goals and had 14 assists.

Bates and Brendel anchored the defense as they caused 25 and 15 turnovers, respectively. Junior goalkeeper Thomas Fallon (Kings Park, N.Y.) started every game and had 155 saves and held a 8.38 goals against average.

Farmingdale State graduated seven seniors this year.
