Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #8

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #8 on Monday, April 20th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (13-13, 7-5 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 4-1 mark in five games last week. On the weekend, they split with Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday and followed with a sweep of Purchase on Sunday.

Sophomore Matt Seelinger (Levittown, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week. Seelinger threw nine scoreless innings over two appearances with 12 strikeouts on the week. He fanned nine while allowing just two hits on April 19 in the Rams' 10-0 win over Purchase and tossed two scoreless innings of relief on April 18 versus Mount Saint Vincent.

This week the baseball team will travel to Staten Island on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. before closing out conference play with a doubleheader at Maritime on Saturday beginning at noon. Farmingdale State is currently in third place in the Skyline Conference entering the last week of the regular season.

Softball Update (18-12, 10-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The Farmingdale State softball team played 10 games last week and went 6-4. The Rams clinched the #2 seed heading into this week's conference tournament at Mount Saint Mary College.

Sophomore third baseman/pitcher Andrea Klarman (Medford, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Klarman batted .552 (16-for-29) with 14 runs scored and 12 RBI's as Farmingdale State clinched the # 2 seed in this week's Skyline Championship. She had five home runs, three doubles and four walks with a 1.172 slugging percentage. Klarman went 3-for-4 with a home run in the Rams' 8-3 win over MSMC on April 19 and went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs on April 16 in an 18-4 victory against NYU.

The playoffs will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Mount Saint Mary.

Women's Lacrosse Update (8-5, 5-1 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC posted a 3-1 mark in four games last week.

Senior midfielder Nicole Marzocca* (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Marzocca compiled 14 goals, 14 assists and 18 draw controls in a 3-1 week for the Rams. She registered 21 shots and added six caused turnovers and five ground balls. Marzocca tallied five goals and added three assists on April 13 in the Rams' 22-11 win versus Elmira and had five goals and four assists in a 20-7 victory over Mount Saint Mary on April 18. She was tabbed the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season.

This week the women's lacrosse team will face Stevens in a road non-conference game on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. before closing out the regular season on Saturday vs. Purchase at 1:00 p.m. The Rams are currently in second place in the Skyline Conference.

Men's Tennis Update (9-4, 4-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 2-2 in four matches last week and clinched the #3 seed for the upcoming playoffs.

Sophomore Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Danzy went a combined 7-1 at #2 singles and second doubles as Farmingdale State earned the third seed in this week's Skyline Championship. He did not drop a single game against both St. Joseph's (April 17) and Mount Saint Mary (April 18) in singles play. Danzy earned a 6-2, 6-0 win on April 15 in the Rams' 5-4 loss to Purchase.

This week the men's tennis team will head to second-seeded Purchase for the Skyline Semifinals on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Update (7-5, 2-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team was 1-1 last week in a pair of conference games.

Senior attack Philip Schaefer* (Holbrook, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after his eight-point performance on April 18 in Farmingdale State's 17-11 win over Mount Saint Mary.

This week FSC will host Maritime on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and then close out the regular season at Stockton on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The Rams are currently in fourth place in the Skyline Conference.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team finished in third place out of nine teams at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational held at Ballston Spa Country Club last week.

Junior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) captured the individual title with scores of 73 and 72 finishing one stroke ahead of teammate Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) (76-70).

This week the Rams will host the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational at Bethpage Red on Thursday and Friday. The first tee-time on Thursday is 11:08 a.m. and Friday's final round begins at 9:08 a.m.
