Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #5

- Schaefer named Player of the Week for men's lacrosse -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #5 on Monday, March 30th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Baseball Update (4-8, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 2-1 last week with a 6-3 loss at William Paterson followed by a sweep of Yeshiva University.

Senior Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Alvino had two hits with one double in each of FSC's three games. He was 2-for-4 with an RBI at William Paterson and was 2-for-4 with two runs scored in game one at Yeshiva and followed with a 2-for-2 performance in game two with two runs scored and an RBI.

This week FSC will play a pair of non-conference doubleheaders: Friday, April 3rd at Shenandoah @ noon and Saturday, April 4th at Keystone @ 1:00 p.m.

Women's Lacrosse Update (3-2, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team posted a pair of victories last week with wins over Western Connecticut (19-8) and Mount Saint Vincent (12-2).

Senior midfielder Christy Thoden* (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after recording three goals, two assists, nine draw controls and five ground balls in the 19-8 win vs. Western Connecticut. She followed with two goals, one assist, five draw controls and caused four turnovers in the 12-2 win vs. Mount Saint Vincent.

FSC will host Montclair State on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. and travel to Old Westbury on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Update (6-2, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State won their Skyline Conference opener with a 13-7 victory at Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday.

Senior attack Philip Schaefer* (Holbrook, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Schaefer scored a game-high five goals on 13 shots as Farmingdale State opened Skyline play with a 13-7 win over Mount Saint Vincent on March 28th. He added six ground balls, one assist and one caused turnover in the Rams' lone contest of the week. Schaefer was tabbed the Skyline Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

This week the men's lacrosse team will travel to Misericordia on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and host Kean on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Softball Update (5-5, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

All of the softball games last week were postponed due to weather.

The Rams will play a conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Mount Saint Mary College at 3:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team captured the season opening tri-match over Luther and Calvin College at Orange County National's Crooked Cat Golf Course.

This week the Rams will travel to Tallgrass Golf Club in Shoreham, N.Y. for the Dowling College Memorial Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Men's Tennis Update (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams captured their lone match with a 9-0 win over John Jay.

Sophomore Chris Hunter (Melville, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after posting a 6-0, 6-0 victory in first singles and paired with Tyler Danzy for an 8-0 victory at #1 doubles.

This week FSC will host three matches: Tuesday vs. Staten Island @ 4:30 p.m., Thursday vs. York (NY) @ 4:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. Oneonta @ 1:00 p.m.
