Men's Lacrosse Announces Captains for 2015 Season

- Carrick, Corbett and Schaefer will lead Rams squad in 2015 -


Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State head men's lacrosse coach Sean Chamberlain and his coaching staff have selected three team captains for the upcoming 2015 season. Leading the squad this spring will be Kyle Carrick (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Ryan Corbett (Plainview, N.Y.) and Philip Schaefer (Holbrook, N.Y.).

Carrick, a junior defender, transferred to Farmingdale State last season, but was unable to play due to injury. He played one season for Sacred Heart in 2012, appearing in four games for the Pioneers. In high school, he was a three-year Varsity player for West Islip, helping the team to State Championships in both 2009 and 2010 and a National Championship in 2010.

Corbett, a junior midfielder, was named Second Team All-Skyline in 2014. Corbett appeared in every game last season and scoring once, a man-down goal, and picking up 19 ground balls. His freshman year, he played in 13 games with a goal, 13 ground balls and four caused turnovers. In high school, Ryan was a team captain at Plainview-JFK High School.

Schaefer, a senior attackman, transferred to Farmingdale State last season and was selected First Team All-Skyline after leading the team in goals (34), assists (14) and points (48). He finished the year ranked third in the conference in goals per game (2.43). Schaefer played two seasons at Hartwick College, where he scored 58 goals and 39 assists during his freshman and sophomore year.
