New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Spring weekly report #7 on Monday, April 15th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Women's Lacrosse Update (11-2, 8-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's lacrosse team defeated New Paltz and Montclair State this week to improve to 11-2 overall.

Sophomore midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Player of the Week. Thoden scored the game-winning goals in Farmingdale State's wins over New Paltz (19-15) and Montclair State (16-15) as the Rams extended their winning streak to eight games. She totaled six goals, eight assists, 12 draw controls, six ground balls and four caused turnovers on the week. She won the draw and scored with eight seconds remaining as FSC edged Montclair State, finishing with two goals, five assists and six draw controls in the match. She tallied four goals, three assists, six ground balls and four caused turnovers versus New Paltz.

This week the Rams travel to Merchant Marine on Monday, April 15th at 7:00 p.m. They will wrap up conference play with a game at Sage on Wednesday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m. and Ramapo on Saturday, April 20th at 1:00 p.m.

Baseball Update (19-9, 11-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State baseball has won 10 straight games, posting a perfect 5-0 record last week. The Rams defeated NJCU on Tuesday night, before sweeping St. Joe's and NYU-Poly this weekend. In game two against Poly, Farmingdale State tossed a combined perfect game, thanks to pitchers Cameron Kitt, Kevin Martinez and Dominick Morelli.

Freshman pitcher Kevin Martinez (Glen Cove, N.Y.) was named the Conference Rookie of the Week. Martinez went 1-0 over two appearances with four hits and zero runs allowed over seven innings pitched. He tossed five shutout innings to earn the win on Apr. 9 as Farmingdale State posted a 9-2 win over NJCU, struck out three over two innings as he combined with two teammates for a perfect game on Apr. 14 in the Rams' 16-0 victory against NYU-Poly.

Senior outfielder David Zilnicki (Riverhead, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll, after batting .538 with six runs scored, five RBI and four steals.

The Rams will face Yeshiva at home on Friday, April 19th at 10:00 a.m. and Purchase on Saturday, April 20th at Noon. On Sunday, Farmingdale will host non-conference opponent Shenandoah in a DH at Noon.

Men's Tennis Update (8-0, 5-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams went 3-0 with wins over Purchase, NYU-Poly and Sage.

Senior Alex Bessarabov (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named Skyline Player of the Week. He went 3-0 at No. 3 singles and won all three of his doubles matches at the No. 2 flight. He did not lose a game on Apr. 10 against Purchase and dropped just one game on Apr. 14 versus Sage, earning a hardfought 0-6, 6-2, 6-1 decision against NYU-Poly. He boasts an 8-0 record at No. 3 singles and an 8-0 mark at second doubles on the year.

This week Farmingdale State is on the road with games at Mount Saint Mary (4/17), Merchant Marine (4/18) and Baruch (4/20).

Softball Update (17-13, 10-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The softball team went 5-1 this week, sweeping Purchase and Mount Saint Vincent and splitting with Mount Saint Mary.

Farmingdale State senior third baseman Kristen Flint (Brentwood, N.Y.) batted .526 with eight RBI in a 5-1 week for the Rams, while teammate Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.) earned four complete-game victories. Freshman catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) collected eight hits, including four doubles, and added seven runs scored for the week.

This week Farmingdale State will wrap up the regular-season with a home game against John Jay College on Wednesday, April 17th at 3:30 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Update (7-6, 4-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's lacrosse team went 1-1 this past week, falling to Kean 12-6 and defeating Mount Saint Vincent 11-5 on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore attack Matthew Finn (Huntington Station, N.Y.) scored a team-high six goals over the two games, including four goals in the win over CMSV on Saturday.

Farmingdale State will wrap up the regular-season on Saturday, April 20th with a Skyline game at Montclair State at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team finished in 8th at the Manhattanville Spring Invitational this weekend at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middletown, Conn.

Junior Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y.) finished in a tie for fifth place individually, after shooting rounds of 74 & 75.

This week, the Rams travel to Southward Ho Country Club on Monday, April 15th for the Old Westbury Invitational. On Saturday-Sunday, Farmingdale State will compete in the Palamountain Invitational at Hiland Park CC in Queensbury, N.Y.
