Finn Scores Four as Rams Defeat Mount Saint Vincent

Yonkers, N.Y. - Sophomore attack Matthew Finn (Huntington Station, N.Y.) scored a game-high four goals as Farmingdale State earned an 11-5 Skyline victory at Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday afternoon.

Tied 2-2 after the first period, sophomore midfielder Mike Strebel (Northport, N.Y.) scored off the pass from senior Bobby Thomas (Wantagh, N.Y.) to put the Rams (7-6, 4-1) ahead 3-2. A man-up goal by freshman attack Matthew Visintin (Yonkers, N.Y.) with 1:58 remaining in the period, gave Farmingdale State a 4-2 lead at the halftime break.

Two Rams goals to start the third extended the advantage to 6-2 with 8:41 left to play in the period. After a Mount Saint Vincent (5-8, 1-3) score, Finn responded with his second man-up goal of the game, putting Farmingdale State ahead 7-3 entering the final period.

The Rams outscored the Dolphins 4-2 in the fourth period en route to the 11-5 conference victory.

Finn led the way with four goals, while Thomas had two goals, three assists and four ground balls. Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Fallon (Kings Park, N.Y.) made 14 saves in the win.

Farmingdale State next will close out the regular season as they travel to Montclair State on Saturday, April 20th at 1:00 p.m.
