COMPLETE ALL-MET TEAM RELEASE

NEW YORK | The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) released its 2022-23 Division III men's college basketball All-Met teams Tuesday, and Farmingdale State College senior student-athletes Nick Hurowitz (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) and Corey Powell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) received second and third-team kudos, respectively.

The recipients of All-Met teams across all three NCAA divisions will be recognized at the 90th Annual MBWA Haggerty Awards Dinner on April 27 (Thu.), at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, N.Y. The Haggerty Dinner is the longest running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.

Hurowitz and Powell helped lead the Rams to a 21-8 record this season, which included head coach Brendan Twomey's side's winning their third Skyline Conference Championship in the last six seasons. Hurowitz was a first-team All-Skyline honoree, after ranking eighth in the conference with FSC-best averages of 14.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per outing. He ranked 66th in Division III with his .840 free-throw percentage, while his eight double-doubles ranked 86th.

Powell, who guarded the opposition's top perimeter threat in Farmingdale State's man-to-man defense, scored at an 11.9 points-per-game clip that ranked 14th in the Skyline and second on the team. He ranked seventh in the Skyline with his .712 free-throw percentage, and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2023 Skyline Conference Championship after scoring a team-high 16 points in the championship final versus Manhattanville (Feb. 25).
