Farmingdale, N.Y. – Defending junior college national champion Nassau Community College captured the Farmingdale State Invitational with a two day total of 622, defeating second place Farmingdale State by 26 strokes. Nassau’s Dan Carr, Matt Livolsi and Jim McGlaughlin each shot a second day low of 76 leading the Lions to the team championship. Farmingdale State’s Kyle Havas captured the individual championship shooting a two day total of 151 (73-78).

Farmingdale, N.Y. – Nassau Community College grabbed the team lead with a score of 316 after day one of the two-day Farmingdale Invitational. Nassau CC Juan Sanchez (76) and Colin Dolph (78) finished the day in second and third place individually for the Lions. Farmingdale's Kyle Havas shot a first day best three over par 73, putting the Rams in second place with a team total of 325. St. Joseph's College currently sits in third place with a team total of 333 after day one. St Joe's was lead by Mike Keaveny who shot a team low 81 for the Golden Eagles. The first tee-time will be at 10:00 am tomorrow for the final round of the tournament...

Senior Kyle Havas (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) posted a one over par 71 leading Farmingdale State to a first place finish in a tri-match hosted by Suffolk Community College at St. Georges Country Club. Havas was three-over par through 17 holes and went on to eagle the 18th, setting a new career low to earn medalist honors. Sophomore Joe Russo (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) shot a career low 76 for the Rams, and freshman Masa Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai) shot a 79 in his first collegiate match for Farmingdale.
