Men's Golf 2007-08 Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The men's golf team finished the Fall season by placing 2nd at the Conference Championship held in October at Montauk Downs golf course. Senior Kyle Havas finished 2nd place individually at the conference championship and freshman Matt Russo placed 6th individually, earning them both 1st Team All-Skyline honors. The highlight of the fall was Farmingdale setting an all-time school record, a team total of 296, in a quad match at Bethpage State Park. Three players, including Kyle Havas, shot a 74 or under during the record-setting performance.

Havas capped off his career in the spring semester by winning the individual championship, shooting a 2-day total of 150 at the Farmingdale State Invitational held at Bethpage State Park’s Red Course. The Rams finished 2nd out of 6 teams, losing to the defending junior college National Champions Nassau Community College. Newcomers Masa Maruyama and Joe Russo finished in the Top 7 during the Invitational. Havas also posted a personal best 71 at St. George’s Country Club, helping Farmingdale defeat Nassau and Suffolk Community Colleges.
