Rams Close Out Regular Season Schedule with Win Versus Bard

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The FSC women's volleyball team closed out their regular season schedule with a 3-0 win over non-conference opponent Bard College on Friday night. Farmingdale State holds a 15-7 overall record and is riding a program record 14-match winning streak heading into the playoffs.

FSC led 13-8 in the first set and used back-to-back kills by junior middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) and a pair of Raptors (7-17) errors to take a nine-point advantage. Following a Bard point, another Ricketts kill and a solo block by junior outside Madeline Stanley (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) gave the Rams a 19-9 edge. FSC held on for a 25-18 set win to go in front, 1-0.

Farmingdale State jumped out to a 6-1 advantage in the second set before senior outside hitter Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.) had a pair of kills and sophomore middle blocker Mikayla Profeta (Knoxville, TN) recorded a solo block to go ahead, 9-1. After a Bard time out, Profeta notched a trio of kills in a 3-1 run to go ahead by nine, 12-3. 

The Rams held a 21-7 lead later in the set and rattled off a pair of kills from Stanley before an ace by senior outside hitter Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) to take a commanding 24-7 advantage. Ricketts closed the set with a kill as FSC captured a 25-9 victory to take a 2-0 advantage.

FSC clinched the match with a 25-16 win in set three to capture the 3-0 sweep.

Farrell led the way with a match-high 15 kills (.423 attacking percentage), to go along with seven digs. Ricketts registered eight kills on a .438 attacking percentage, while Profeta tallied six kills and two blocks.

Senior setter Lexi Cavalieri (Lake Grove, N.Y.) recorded 21 assists, two digs and two service aces and freshman setter Danielle Marullo (Patchogue, N.Y.) had 15 assists and a match-high five aces.

Senior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) tallied 11 digs and two service aces, while sophomore Lana Ventura (Port Washington, N.Y.) notched a season-high eight digs.

Flamio and Stanley added five and two kills, respectively.

The Rams have earned their spot in the Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Championship and will host a Semifinal match on Thursday, November 3rd. The full six-team field and pairings will be announced at the end of weekend play.
