FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Led by a 12-kill, two-block effort from junior Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Hts., N.Y.) and 16 aces from the service line, the Farmingdale State College volleyball team ran its winning streak to three-consecutive matches Saturday afternoon at the Walter A. Lynch Sports Center, sweeping past visiting Pratt Institute by a 3-0 count (25-22, 25-12, 25-14).

During the winning streak, the Rams (4-7) have registered 15-plus aces in each of the three sweeps, including a match and season-best six by senior outside hitter Kate Flamio (E. Islip, N.Y.) and four by senior setter Lexi Cavalieri (Lake Grove, N.Y.) -- who led a FSC offense that hit .239 with 19 assists. Sophomore middle Mikayla Profeta (Knoxville, Tenn.) contributed 8.5 points on five kills (.364 hitting), two aces and two total blocks (one solo), while senior Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.) added seven kills, two assisted blocks and 10 digs. Senior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) tied for the match-high by passing 11 digs, while adding two service aces.

Farmingdale State pulled away midway through a close first set with an 10-3 run, including five-straight points behind Profeta's serving, to go in from 21-11 on a kill by Ricketts. The Cannoneers (7-6) earned five straight points behind the serving of libero Deanna Colondona, before an attack error by the visitors at 24-22 pushed the Rams in front in the match by a 1-0 margin.

In set two, Ricketts put down a kill on the initial serve receive, before Flamio served six-consecutive points to push FSC in front quickly, 7-0. After the teams swapped side outs, Pozo's serving pushed the hosts' edge to 13-1.

The Rams started set three with the serve, and responded to the tune of the first-10 points of the frame on Cavalieri's serving -- including all four of her aces on the day -- to take control for good.

Head coach Kellie Block's Farmingdale State side is back in Skyline Conference action Monday night (Oct. 3), when it travels to Riverdale, N.Y., for a 6 p.m. first serve at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
