Volleyball Falls in Road Match at Western Connecticut

DANBURY, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College volleyball team received eight points from sophomore middle blocker Mikayla Profeta (Knoxville, Tenn.) and seven from senior outside hitter Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.) Wednesday night at Feldman Arena, as the visiting Rams dropped a straight-set decision at Western Connecticut University (25-21, 25-14, 25-21).

Profeta led all players with a career-best three solo blocks, while adding as many kills and a team-high two aces from the service line for FSC (0-3). Farrell led her side with six kills, and passed six digs during her time in the back-row rotation. Junior outside Madeline Stanley (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) registered a 4-1-9 (.333) hitting line, while senior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with eight digs.

Head coach Kellie Block's Rams continue their road swing on Friday night, when they travel to the west side of Manhattan for a 7 p.m. at John Jay College.
