Volleyball Drops Road Opener at Drew

MADISON, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College women's volleyball team dropped its road opener Thursday night, falling to host Drew University in straight sets, 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-17).

The visiting Rams (0-2) received six points apiece from junior Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Hts., N.Y.) and sophomore Mikayla Profeta (Knoxville, Tenn.), who each registered team-highs of four kills and two service aces. Freshman Danielle Marullo (Patchogue, N.Y.) passed a team- and career-best 13 digs in the back row, while senior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) chipped in with 12. Senior setter Lexi Cavalieri (Lake Grove, N.Y.) and Marullo dished out nine and five assists, respectively.

Drew (3-2) won its home opener behind a 10-kill showing on .259 hitting by Andrea Camacho-Tenreiro, who was one of three Rangers to tally three aces from the service line.

Head coach Kellie Block's Rams are back on the road Wednesday night (Sept. 14), when they travel to Danbury, Conn., for a 7 p.m. first serve at Western Connecticut State University.
