Four Earn Women's Volleyball All-Conference; Ricketts Named Co-Rookie of the Year

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference's 12 head women's volleyball coaches have cast their votes on the 2021 edition of the all-conference team and Farmingdale State has four selections.

Freshman middle blockers Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) and Mikayla Profeta (West Islip, N.Y.) were both named First Team All-Conference, while freshman outside hitter Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.) and junior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) each earned a spot on the Second Team.

Ricketts was also named Co-Rookie of the Year (with libero Grace Ballagas of Manhattanville College), while Farmingdale State Head Coach Kellie Block and Sarah Lawrence mentor Sovanny Ebbesen were voted Co-Coaches of the Year by their peers.

Ricketts led the team in kills (206), kills per set (2.58), solo blocks (18), block assists (34) and total blocks (52) and ranked second with a .242 hitting percentage. In the Skyline, she ranked second for blocks, third for blocks per set (0.65), fifth for kills per set, seventh for hitting percentage and points per set (3.15) and eighth in both kills and points (252).

Profeta led the team with a .285 hitting percentage, ranked second in solo blocks (8), block assists (29) and blocks per set (0.49) and third for both kills (162) and kills per set (2.13). In the Skyline, she ranked fourth for hitting percentage, fifth for blocks and blocks per set, and 13th in points (206.5) and points per set (2.72).

Farrell ranked second on the team in kills (190), kills per set (2.38), service aces (40) and service aces per set (0.50), ranked third for hitting percentage and fourth for digs (141) and digs per set (1.76). In the Skyline, she ranked seventh for kills, kills per set and points (239) and was eighth in points per set (2.99).

Pozo led the team with 359 digs and 4.03 digs per set, ranked fourth for assists (41) and fifth in service aces (27). In the Skyline, she ranked third for digs and fifth for digs per set. Anchored an FSC defense that held an .889 reception percentage and tallied 14.2 digs per set. Also helped FSC rank 24th in the Nation for service aces.

FSC junior outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
