FSC Defeats Maritime; Earns #3 Seed for Playoffs

Farmingdale State - 3, Maritime - 0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-4)


Throggs Neck, N.J. - The FSC women's volleyball team traveled to Skyline opponent Maritime on Thursday evening and won, 3-0. Farmingdale State closed their regular season schedule with a 10-1 record in the Skyline Conference and have earned the #3 seed for the Playoffs.

The Rams (15-9) picked up 25-16 wins in the first and second sets before cruising to a 25-4 decision in the third as they went on for the 3-0 sweep.

Freshman outside hitter Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.) recorded a match-high 13 kills, to go along with seven digs, two blocks and one service ace. Freshman middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) hit at a .625 clip and notched 11 kills and three blocks, including one solo, while freshman middle blocker Mikayla Profeta (West Islip, N.Y.) had nine kills on 12 attempts (.750 attacking percentage). Sophomore setter Lexi Cavalieri (Lake Grove, N.Y.) had 18 assists, two aces and four digs, junior outside hitter Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) tallied seven kills, five digs and two aces, and freshman setter Molly Miller (East Northport, N.Y.) registered 15 assists.

FSC junior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) recorded nine digs, six assists and two aces and freshman outside hitter Madeline Stanley (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) finished with three kills and three blocks.

Maritime (5-15, 3-8 Skyline) sophomore outside Jessica Mele (Southold, N.Y.) tallied a team-high four kills and seven digs.

The Rams have earned the #3 seed for the Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Championship and will play host to #6 Sarah Lawrence for the First Round on Tuesday, November 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
