Rams Roll to Sweep Over Yeshiva

Farmingdale State - 3, Yeshiva - 0 (25-7, 25-6, 25-10)


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team played host to Yeshiva University this evening and cruised to a 3-0 victory. FSC improved to 14-9 overall and 9-1 in the conference with one game remaining in the regular season.

After capturing the first set by a score of 25-7, the Rams followed with 25-6 and 25-10 victories to clinch the 3-0 sweep.

The Rams were led by freshmen Jenya Surlin (East Meadow, N.Y.), who recorded four kills, three service aces and four digs, and Emily Russell (Southold, N.Y.), who had four kills on five attempts for an .800 attacking percentage. Sophomore setter Lexi Cavalieri (Lake Grove, N.Y.) tallied a match-high 11 assists and five service aces, while freshman setter Molly Miller (East Northport, N.Y.) finished with three kills on three attempts and seven assists.

Freshman outside hitter Madeline Stanley (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) registered three kills and four digs, junior outside hitter Rachel McCartin (Wantagh, N.Y.) totaled two kills, five aces and two digs, and sophomore right side Mikayla Dalton (Mineola, N.Y.) recorded five service aces.

Freshman outside Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.), freshman middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) and sophomore middle blocker Jenna Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) each added two kills apiece in the victory. 

As a team, the Rams held an attacking percentage of .347 and recorded 31 service aces, a mark that ranks second all-time.

Farmingdale State closes out their regular season schedule with a match at Maritime College tomorrow, Thursday, October 28th at 6:00 p.m.
