Rams Record Three-Set Sweep of St. Joe's-Brooklyn

Farmingdale State - 3, St. Joseph's-Brooklyn - 0 (25-20, 25-17, 26-24)


Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team traveled to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn for a Skyline Conference match on Tuesday evening and earned a 3-0 shutout victory.

After capturing the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-17, the Rams (9-9, 5-1) closed out the match with a 26-24 win in the third set. The Bears dropped to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in conference play with the loss.

FSC freshman outside Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.) led the way with a match-high 12 kills to go along with five digs, three aces and two blocks, while freshman middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) had 10 kills and a pair of blocks. Junior outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore setter Lexi Cavalieri (Lake Grove, N.Y.) each recorded a team-high 10 digs. Cavalieri also notched a match-high 17 assists in the win for the Rams.

For the Bears, freshman outside Martina Urgo (Astoria, N.Y.) had a team-leading seven kills, while three other players finished the night with five kills apiece. 

Farmingdale State next will play host to St. Joseph's-Long Island in a conference matchup on Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m.
