FSC Remains Unbeaten in Skyline with Victory Over CMSV

Farmingdale State - 3, Mount Saint Vincent - 0 (25-21, 25-18, 27-25)


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team improved to a perfect 4-0 in Skyline Conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Mount Saint Vincent this evening. 

In the first set, the Rams (8-8) led 19-17 and recorded four straight points, including two service aces by freshman outside Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.), to take a 23-17 advantage. FSC went on for a 25-21 set one victory.

Farmingdale State held an 8-6 advantage in the second set before using an 11-4 run to go in front, 19-10. The Rams led by six, 24-18, and used a kill from junior outside hitter Rachel McCartin (Wantagh, N.Y.) to close the set and jump out to a 2-0 advantage.

With the third set knotted at 25-25, FSC junior outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) registered back-to-back kills, from freshman setter Molly Miller (East Northport, N.Y.), to clinch the set, 27-25, and the match, 3-0.

Farrell led the way for the Farmingdale State with nine kills, four aces, four digs and a block, while freshman middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) tallied nine kills and a .444 hitting percentage. Flamio finished with seven kills, 13 digs and three aces and freshman middle blocker Mikayla Profeta (West Islip, N.Y.) totaled seven kills and two blocks. Miller recorded 15 assists, three digs and two blocks and junior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) had a team-high 13 digs, to go along with two assists and three aces.

The Dolphins (8-7, 1-3 Skyline) were led by sophomore outside Elizabeth Flores (San Diego, Calif.) who had a match-high 10 kills.

The Rams next will travel to play Manhattanville in a Skyline Conference match on Thursday, October 7th at 7:00 p.m.
