Women's Volleyball Cruises to Sweep at Purchase

Farmingdale State - 3, Purchase - 0 (25-15, 25-5, 25-13)


Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team improved to 3-0 in conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Purchase College on Thursday evening.

The Rams (7-8) captured the first set 25-15 and followed with a 25-5 win in the second set. FSC rounded out the match with a 25-13 decision in set three as they went on for the 3-0 victory.

Junior outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) led the way for Farmingdale State with nine kills, .467 hitting percentage, nine digs, one block and two service aces. Freshman outside Cathleen Farrell (Bayport, N.Y.) finished with nine kills (.316 attacking %), seven digs and three aces, while freshman middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) recorded eight kills (.462 attacking %), three aces, three digs and two blocks. Junior libero Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) notched a match-high 12 digs. 

As a team, the Rams recorded 16 service aces and 11 blocks in the match. They also had 10 different players record a kill in the win.

FSC next plays host to Skyline Conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent on Monday, October 4th at 7:00 p.m.
