Farmingdale State Sweeps Purchase in Skyline Contest

Farmingdale State - 3, Purchase - 0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-10)


Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team defeated Purchase College, 3-0, in a Skyline matchup on Wednesday night.

FSC (12-8, 4-1 Skyline) led 13-10 in the first set and outscored the Panthers (4-12, 3-4 Skyline) 12-4 the rest of the way to capture the set, 25-14. The Rams followed with 25-20 and 25-10 victories in the second and third sets, respectively, to earn the 3-0 sweep.

Farmingdale State sophomore outside Rachel McCartin (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished with seven kills, four digs, four assists and two aces, while senior middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) and sophomore outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) had seven kills and two service aces each. Freshman right side Mikayla Dalton (Mineola, N.Y.) and freshman middle blocker Ca'Marai Clyburn (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) added five and three kills, respectively, and sophomore libero Emani Mensah (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded a match-high 16 digs in the win.

FSC next will host a non-conference tri-match featuring New York University and Misericordia University on Saturday, October 12th. The Rams will square off with NYU at 11:00 a.m. and Misericordia at 3:00 p.m.
