Rams Fall in Straight Sets to Hunter College

Hunter - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-15)


Farmingdale, N.Y. - In a non-conference women's volleyball match this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y., Hunter College defeated Farmingdale State in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-15. The Rams fell to 3-11 on the year, while the Hawks improved to 8-2.

Freshman outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) led FSC with a team-high eight kills to go along with seven digs, while senior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) had seven kills, eight digs and a match-high three blocks. Freshman libero Kellianne Dempsey (Lake Grove, N.Y.) pitched in with 12 digs and junior middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) tallied six kills for the Rams.

Hunter's Taylor Haiduk (Bellmore, N.Y.) notched match-highs in kills (10), digs (15) and aces (3) and sophomore middle blocker Isabelle Lawrence (Baldwin, N.Y.) was second on the team with eight kills in the 3-set victory.

Farmingdale State next travels to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for a non-conference match against Moravian College on Thursday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m.
