Rams Drop Pair at Wheaton Invitational

Norton, Mass. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the opening day of the Wheaton Invitational last night. FSC fell in straight sets to Bates College before losing to host school Wheaton (Mass.) College, 3-0.

In their first match against Bates (1-0), Rams (1-6) junior middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) led the team with five kills, while senior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) and freshman outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) each tallied four kills. FSC freshman setter Angie Yarrow (Absecon, N.J.) recorded a team-high nine assists and four digs in the loss.

Against the Lyons (5-1), Flamio registered four kills, three digs and one service ace, while freshman outside Mariel Tavares (Copiague, N.Y.) produced a team-high eight digs.

The Rams are right back at it today as they faceoff with Middlebury at 11:00 a.m. and Worcester State at 1:00 p.m.
