Farmingdale State - 3, Rutgers-Newark - 0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-18)

Newark, N.J. - On Thursday evening at Rutgers-Newark, FSC senior middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) broke the school record for total blocks (14) in one game as the Farmingdale State women's volleyball team won their eighth straight match, 3-0. Cadle-Hinton bests her own record of 12, which she set earlier this season. The Rams now stand at 15-7 this season, while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 8-14 on the year.

Tied at 21-21 in the first set, a blocking assist by Cadle-Hinton and sophomore middle blocker Samantha Coq (Hempstead, N.Y.) and an attacking error by Rutgers-Newark gave the Rams their first two-point lead of the set, 23-21.

After each team recorded a kill, a Farmingdale State service error brought the Rams advantage to just one, 24-23. On the ensuing serve, another attacking error by Rutgers-Newark gave the Rams the 25-23 set one victory.

FSC cruised to a 25-15 win in the second set before finishing with a 25-18 victory in the third to complete the 3-0 sweep of the Scarlet Raiders.

Along with Cadle-Hinton's record-breaking 14 blocks, she also tallied five digs and six kills, while sophomore setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) produced team-high's in kills (8), digs (18) and service aces (3).

Rutgers-Newark was led by senior outside Morgan Schweitzer (Monroe, N.J.) and junior outside Cassie Luken (North Brunswick, N.J.) who each recorded 11 kills.

The Rams next host a Skyline Conference Tri-Match on Saturday, October 21st starting at 10:00 a.m. FSC will face off with both Merchant Marine and Maritime.
