New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #6 on Monday, October 16, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Cross Country Update - Men's Full Report  - Women's Full Report

FSC sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) earned Runner of the Week honors for the first time this season after she won her first career 5k race at the 18th Annual St. Joseph's Invitational held at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y. on Saturday.

The women took a second place finish only to Division I Fordham University, while the men placed ninth out of 21 teams.

The cross country teams are off this week and next head to the Skyline Conference Championships in Purchase, N.Y. on Sunday, October 29th.

 

Women's Soccer Update (9-5-2, 7-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams cruised to three Skyline victories last week as they defeated Maritime (4-0), St. Joseph's-Long Island (8-2) and Yeshiva (9-0) for a 3-0 week.

Senior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Howard recorded a hat trick on Sunday against Yeshiva and totaled five goals, including two game-winners, and 11 points last week.

Farmingdale State will play three games this week, including two against ranked opponents. The Rams will play host to #25 Western Connecticut State on Wednesday @ 7:00 p.m., travel to play Skyline foe Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday @ 1:00 p.m., and host non-conference opponent #5 William Smith on Sunday @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (14-7, 5-0 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC earned three Skyline Conference wins last week, sweeping all three matches, 3-0, against Old Westbury, St. Joseph's-Long Island and Purchase.

Sophomore setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) was tabbed Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this year after leading the team with 31 kills, 13 serving aces and 35 digs. Hande tallied two double-doubles last week, including 11 kills and 11 digs versus Old Westbury and a 13 kill, 20 dig effort at St. Joseph's-LI. Hande also set a new career-high with nine aces at Purchase.

This week the women's volleyball team plays a non-conference match on Thursday at Rutgers-Newark @ 7:00 p.m. before hosting a Skyline Conference Tri-Match on Saturday. FSC will face Merchant Marine @ 10:00 a.m. and Maritime @ 2:00 p.m., with the two facing off with each other @ 12:00 p.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (6-5, 3-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team went 1-1 last week against two conference opponents. The Rams won 3-2 in overtime at Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday and fell, 2-0, versus Mount Saint Mary on Saturday.

FSC sophomore forward Carlos Rivera (Huntington Station, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after he tallied a pair of goals, including the OT penalty kick game-winner, against the Gryphons.

This week Farmingdale State will play three games: Tuesday at Mount Saint Vincent @ 3:30 p.m., Thursday versus New Rochelle @ 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at #15 Amherst @ 11:00 a.m.

 

Women's Tennis Update (7-8, 3-3 Skyline) - Full Report

In a pair of matches last week, the Rams were 1-1, winning a conference match versus Purchase, 5-4, on Tuesday before falling to John Jay College, 7-2, on Thursday.

Farmingdale State sophomore Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. She recorded wins at #1 doubles (8-1), with partner Olivia Stauffer (Greenlawn, N.Y.), and #1 singles (6-0, 6-1) versus Purchase.

On Monday, October 16th, the Rams played in their season finale, defeating William Paterson, 7-2. Farmingdale State ends their season 7-8 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

 

Men's Golf Update

At the Mount Saint Mary College Fall Invitational at the Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y. on Friday, the Rams shot 314, besting host school MSMC (330) for a first place finish.

Sophomore Gary Cohan (Kings Park, N.Y.) and freshman Taylor Stoerback (St. James, N.Y.) shot 4-over par 74's as they tied for second place individually.

Farmingdale State will now compete in the Skyline Conference Championship at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course on Sunday, October 22nd and Monday, October 23rd.
