Dallas, Penn. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team picked up two wins today in a tri-match at Misericordia. The Rams started the afternoon with a 3-0 win against Cairn, before closing out with a 3-1 victory over the host Cougars to improve to 5-2 on the season.
Against Cairn in a three-set sweep, junior setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with game-highs in kills (10) and assists (23). Junior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) finished with a game-high 12 digs, five kills, four service aces and two blocks.
In the win over Misericordia, the Rams fell 25-22 in the first set, before winning three straight for the 3-1 victory. FSC totaled a school record 28 blocks in the match. Strezenec tallied 35 assists, while sophomore Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) posted 10 kills and 14 digs.
Farmingdale State next will host Moravian College in a non-conference match on Tuesday, September 19th at 7:00 p.m.
