
Farmingdale State - 3, CCNY - 0 (25-6, 25-17, 25-23)
New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team and first year head coach Kristy Nix opened up the 2017 season with a 3-0 non-conference win at CCNY this evening.
The Rams cruised to a 25-6 victory in the opening set and followed with 25-17 and 25-23 wins for the sweep.
FSC was led by sophomore setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) who tallied a team-high 12 assists and seven aces, while sophomore middle Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) totaled a match-high eight kills and had one solo block. Junior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) recorded three assists, six kills and nine digs for the Rams.
Beavers freshman setter Christine Rosa (Brooklyn, N.Y.) racked up six assists and Yana Shaposhnikoua (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a match-high 16 digs for CCNY.
Farmingdale State next travels to Western Connecticut State for a non-conference match on Wednesday, September 6th at 7:00 p.m.
