Women's Volleyball Advances to Skyline Finals

#1 Farmingdale State - 3, #4 Sage - 1 (25-22, 25-21, 24-26, 25-14)


Troy, N.Y. - The top-seeded Farmingdale State women's volleyball team traveled to #4 Sage for the Skyline Conference Semifinals and earned a 3-1 victory. The Rams have clinched a berth into the Finals for the first time since the 2007 season.

After FSC (18-7) captured the first two sets, Sage (17-18) recorded the final three points in the third to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Rams followed with a convincing 25-14 victory in the fourth set to close out the 3-1 semifinal win.

Junior middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) led the way for Farmingdale State with a team-high 13 kills and five blocks. Senior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) tallied 11 kills and a game-high six blocks, while freshman setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) pitched in with 29 assists, nine kills, five blocks and four aces. Sophomore setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) added 20 assists and junior defensive specialist Stephanie Etersque (Deer Park, N.Y.) finished the night with a team-high 16 digs. The Rams totaled 51 kills as a team in the win.

Sage's Sara Campolieta (Fulton, N.Y.) had game-highs in both kills (14) and digs (19), while senior outside Michayla Berard (Binghamton, N.Y.) added eight kills in the loss.

The Rams advance to the Skyline Finals and will travel to #2 Merchant Marine on Saturday, November 5th at 4:00 p.m.
