Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #8

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #8 on Monday, October 24, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Tennis Update (12-4, 6-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams defeated Baruch, 7-2, in their only match last week. The women's tennis team enters the playoffs as the #1 seed.

Senior Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. She has captured two-straight weekly awards and earned three on the season. Rosamilia teamed with Michelle Fredericks for an 8-3 decision at No. 2 doubles against the Bearcats and defeated Baruch's Hayley Bester by a 6-0, 6-1 score at the top singles flight. She enters the Skyline Conference Championship as a winner of five-consecutive singles matches (11-3 record) and eight-straight doubles matches (13-2 record).

#1 Farmingdale State will play host to #4 Sage in the Skyline Semifinals on Friday @ 4:00 p.m. The winner will advance to the Championship on Sunday at the site of the highest remaining seed.

Women's Soccer Update (8-8-3, 8-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In FSC's lone game versus Sage last week, the Rams used an overtime goal by sophomore midfielder Destiny Pomarico (West Babylon, N.Y.) to claim the 1-0 victory and home field advantage for the upcoming playoffs.

Pomarico was named to the Honor Roll after scoring the game-winning goal only 2:06 into overtime in FSC's victory over Sage.

The women's soccer team will close out the regular season at St. Joe's-LI on Tuesday @ 7:00 p.m.

Women's Volleyball Update (15-6, 8-1 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC's winning streak reached nine games as the Rams were 3-0 on the week with victories over York (NY), Sarah Lawrence and Old Westbury.

Senior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Wright led the Rams with a team-best .500 hitting percentage. In the week closing win at Old Westbury, she had a game-high 16 kills on 21 attacks (.762). Earlier in the week, Wright tallied five and three kills at Sarah Lawrence and York (NY), respectively.

This week the women's volleyball team will play three matches: Thursday at Ramapo @ 7:00 p.m., Saturday at Purchase @ 3:00 p.m. and vs. Mount Saint Vincent (at Purchase) @ 5:00 p.m. The opening round of the Skyline Conference Playoffs is set for November 1st.

Men's Soccer Update (8-7, 7-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team split a pair of games last week with a loss at Old Westbury followed by a home comeback victory against Mount Saint Vincent.

Sophomore forward Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after scoring both goals in the win over Mount Saint Vincent.

The Rams will close out the regular season at home versus St. Joe's-LI on Wednesday @ 6:00 p.m. The First Round of the playoffs is set for Saturday, October 29th.

Men's Golf Update

Farmingdale State hosted Nassau CC in a dual match at Bethpage Red and recorded a 16-shot victory.

The Rams will close out the fall season at the Skyline Conference Championship at Bethpage Red on Sunday & Monday. The winner of the Championship will earn the Skyline's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida on May 16-19, 2017.

Cross Country Update

The cross country teams had the week off but return to action on Sunday at the Skyline Conference Championship which will be held at Broadway Avenue Park in Sayville, N.Y.
