Rams Break School Record on Senior Day

Farmingdale State - 3, Old Westbury - 0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-22)


Old Westbury, N.Y. - With today's Senior Day win over conference rival Old Westbury, the Farmingdale State women's volleyball team posted their ninth straight victory, breaking the previous record of eight consecutive wins in 2013. The Rams improved to 15-6, 8-1 in Skyline play, while the Panthers fell to 3-19, 1-7.

Prior to the game, seniors Katie DeGraff (Amityville, N.Y.), Alanna Garvey (St. James, N.Y.), Christina Hickey (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) were honored for their careers at FSC.

The Rams won the first set, 25-13, to grab the 1-0 lead, before finishing with a .483 attack percentage in the second set for an easy 25-10 victory. Farmingdale took the third and final set in a 25-22 win.

Wright led the attack with 16 kills, while junior libero Stephanie Etersque (Deer Park, N.Y.) posted a team-high 10 digs. Sophomore setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) finished with a team-high 21 assists and freshman setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) had 15 assists.

Farmingdale State will now travel to face Ramapo College in a non-conference match on Thursday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m.
