Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #7

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #7 on Monday, October 17, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Volleyball Update (12-6, 6-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team went 3-0 last week with victories over William Paterson, John Jay and Mount Saint Mary.

Freshman setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. She led FSC in three straight-set sweeps (1-0 Skyline) and posted three kills/assists double-doubles, averaging 4.11 kills (.253 hitting), 4.22 assists and 1.22 total blocks per set. Hande finished one dig shy of a triple-double with 14 kills, 13 assists and five assisted blocks at William Paterson. She contributed 10 kills, 14 assists and six digs at John Jay and versus Mount Saint Mary, hit .385 (13-3-26), passed 11 assists and registered five assisted blocks. Hande ranks No. 4 in the Skyline in both hitting percentage (.240) and kills per set (2.58) and No. 5 in total blocks (0.66/set).

Senior middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after hitting .423 on a three-match week, averaging 3.22 kills per set in the process.

This week FSC will play three road matches: Friday at York (NY) @ 7:00 p.m., Saturday at Sarah Lawrence @ 3:00 p.m. and Sunday (Senior Day) at Old Westbury @ 1:00 p.m.

Women's Tennis Update (12-4, 6-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams won a pair of games last week versus Brooklyn (9-0) and Mount Saint Mary (8-1).

Senior Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season (Sept. 26). Rosamilia went 2-0 at both No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles last week, losing just four combined games along the way. She registered straight-set 6-0 scores in singles action, after an 8-0 triumph in doubles, in non-conference play versus Brooklyn. In the Rams' Skyline regular-season finale, where the team clinched a share of the conference title, Rosamilia picked up an 8-1 win in doubles play, before securing a 6-2, 6-1 singles decision.

The women's tennis team will play one non-conference match this week: Friday vs. Staten Island @ 4:30 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

Farmingdale State earned a 14-stroke victory at the St. Joseph's Invitational at Bellport Country Club last week.

Junior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led with way with a runner-up finish after shooting a 3-over par 73.

This week the Rams will host Nassau CC in a dual match on Friday at Bethpage Red.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

At the St. Joseph's Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park, the women placed second of 18 and the men recorded a sixth place finish out of 20 teams.

The cross country teams next will compete in the Skyline Championship at Broadway Avenue Park in Sayville, N.Y. on Sunday, October 30th.

Women's Soccer Update (7-8-3, 7-0 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC posted a 1-2 mark in three games last week with their victory coming in a Skyline Conference game at Maritime.

Senior midfielder Amanda Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after posting a team-high five points on the week. She assisted the Rams' only goal in the loss versus #5 Stevens and added two scores in the victory at Maritime.

The women's soccer team next will host Sage on Saturday (Senior Day) at 2:00 p.m.

Men's Soccer Update (7-7, 6-3 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State split a pair of games last week after earning a 2-0 victory and Maritime and falling, 4-1, at home to Merchant Marine.

Sophomore midfielder Christian Campos (Huntington Station, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Campos recorded a team-high five points in a 1-1 week for FSC. He scored the game-winning goal with 5:03 remaining against Maritime and assisted the other score in the 2-0 victory. Campos followed with FSC's only goal in the 4-1 loss to Merchant Marine.

The Rams next will host Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday @ 11:30 a.m.
